Lululemon Clothing Is Made Of Magic

If you've never put on a pair of Wunder Unders then I can understand why you would think paying $80 for a pair of spandex is completely ridiculous. But mark my words - go try on a pair and they will sell themselves right into your dresser drawer. I'm serious! I've never met anyone who owns Lululemon clothing who a) isn't completely obsessed and b) regularly buys any other brand of work out clothing now.

My first experience in a Lululemon store was much like the first time I laid eyes on Jesse McCartney in 5th grade. I saw, I felt (ok I didn't feel J.M., you guys) I salivated and immediately became obsessive. I knew there was no turning back once I did my first round of try-ons. The material was like nothing I had ever felt before - and I'm still not really even sure what exactly it is. But I'm ok with that. Because it is most likely made out of magic. All of their clothing is sweat-wicking so you're not disgusting by the end of your hard workout and it literally does not slip around or droop at the crotch or slip off your waist or awkwardly ride up AT ALL no matter the physical activity.

I think the biggest misconception about Lululemon is that women who don't really work out hard and just want to look good at the gym are the only happy customers. WRONG! First of all, I am not a gal who goes to the gym to look good. In fact, if I'm not dripping in sweat by the end of my workout/spin class then I don't feel like I worked hard enough. Even before turning in my huge, baggy T-shirts for colorful Lululemon Tees I couldn't have cared LESS about what I look like when I work out. I just want to be comfortable and not feel like I have to suck in while I'm dying on the stair master because we all know it's hard to double task. Second of all, I love that it's not too 'flashy.' Sometimes Nike gear gets to be a little much with the graphics/huge logo combo. The Lululemon logo is super discreet on all pieces of clothing which I absolutely love (and some items are reversible so you can't see the logo at all on one side). Heck, I've even got my boyfriend hooked! (wait what? I never said that Lane I swear...!) By the way, if you're actually paying $80 on spandex just to 'look good'  or sport a label well then honey you've got a whole different type of problem.

The above articles of Lululemon clothing have become staples in my workout wardrobe. Not kidding - I probably own every color offered for each of them. Oh, and did I mention the Ta Ta Tamer II is probably the BEST sports bra I've ever owned?

Don't call me crazy until you've tried it out! Swear you'll be hooked. And if you're not, well, Jesse McCartney doesn't like you.

  1. Hey thanks for the comment on my blog! It's not that I had a bad experience with Lululemon (I still buy their stuff - the cool racerbacks are now my fav product). It's just that it went downhill since they first launched in Vancouver a number of years ago.

    1. Thanks for the comment! I completely understand - sounds like you've been shopping at Lululemon for a lot longer than I have (I only just discovered it within the past couple of years! or maybe it was just that I couldn't afford it in college.. hah!) I hope they get back to what made them so successful from the get go. And yes, their racer back tanks are the BEST! I don't know what I ever even wore to yoga class before owning these babies!

  2. I think you should say Lululemon clothing USED to be made of magic. I was an AVID Lulu lover until they started becoming so mainstream and huge that they've lost what they had in the first place: GREAT long lasting quality clothes. I still have my first 2 pairs of Lulus I ever bought from 2004 and they fit great... I bought a pair of crops for working out this Xmas and they're already fraying at the seams and have the "sheerness" issue. Im so sad. I used to adore Lululemon but they're going to lose me, and others, in their attempt to become a larger name without keeping the quality they were known and loved for. I still am heartbroken over it. :( If you think Im the only one, try reading any of the reviews on their online site. It's a growing trend with the loyal Lulu lovers who've been supporting them for years.

    1. I'm sorry you've been so disappointed with the quality of Lulu's more recent products! I can't say I blame you... I heard about the recent sheer crop recall and would not be a happy camper if I had paid $90 for a pair of see-through spandex! I hope you were able to take them back & it was made right for you. I know there are a lot of people who are in the same boat as you - I think I'm still in my 'honeymoon phase' with Lululemon because I only just discovered it within the past couple of years! Thanks for your post - I LOVE hearing others' opinions! Let me know if you ever come across a pair of equally as comfortable (and not see through!) line of workout gear (:
